Since it began in 2003, the Rhode Island Animal Welfare Coalition works to advocate for the humane treatment and care of companion animals through education, training, and collaboration. The coalition provides resources to the pet-owning public through its website and through seminars, workshops, printed materials, and daily interactions between its members and the public.
The Rhode Island Animal Welfare Coalition is comprised of animal care and control professionals and others interested in the protection and well-being of companion animals. Our members represent animal control officers and cruelty investigators, animals shelter staff and volunteers, dog trainers, animal behaviorists, boarding facility owners, state government agencies, national animal protection organizations, and others. Through regular meetings and networking, the Coalition strives to provide a forum for the open exchange of ideas and for promoting best practices among the animal care and control community.
